Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is being courted by Jay-Z for a possible collaboration. The rapper recently told U.K. publication The Sun that he thought he and Gallagher could work well together. “Their music is tight and I think we could blend our styles well,” Jay-Z said. “When I teamed up with Linkin Park nobody expected that to work, but we made a massive success of it. The same could happen with Liam.” He added, “When you have two artists like us in a room just throwing about ideas, you come up with something brilliant fairly easily. I don’t know what he is up to now but he can give me a call.” The comments come in the wake of recent reports that Snoop Dogg is hoping to sign Gallagher’s brother and former bandmate, Noel, to his Priority Records Label. Noel left Oasis in late-August, saying he could no longer work with Liam. The brothers have had a famously contentious relationship, with fights between the two leading to canceled performances on multiple occasions, including a scrapped appearance at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris shortly before Noel left the band. Liam has not yet commented on Jay-Z’s remarks.
