The Maine announced today the upcoming release of their full length acoustic album Less Noise: A Collection of Songs by a Band Called The Maine. The release is set for June 22nd, with pre-orders launching via the 8123 site and iTunes today.
The band, often distinguished by their high-energy rock infused live show, is dialing things down a notch with this release. Fans have been following the band’s venture in their new studio space at home, which has allowed them the creative freedom to experiment further into their sound and ultimately releases. The Maine reworked and recorded a variety of songs from their six-album catalogue to pull together Less Noise.
Reflecting on the release, vocalist John O’Callaghan comments, “our songs start out delicate and naked, hiding behind nothing but an acoustic guitar. What you usually hear on your side of the speakers is an evolved, more noisy version of those same beginnings. Because we can and because we wanted to at 8123 studios, we decided to hand pick two songs from each of our full length albums and peel back some volume to deliver you songs you’ve heard just with less noise.”
The first track releases today; “Am I Pretty?” can be heard over on the band’s site. The album will release physically on a limited vinyl run in two color variants – as well as digitally across all platforms. Less Noise is now available for physical and digital pre-order, and the release is set for June 22nd 2018 – ahead of the band’s summer long stint on the final Vans Warped Tour 2018.
