My Chemical Romance’s reunion show, held at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles on December 20, grossed a record total of nearly $1.5 million for the venue.
My Chemical Romance’s agency, Paradigm said the total collection amounted to $1,451,745.
The event, which hosted a 4,993 strong sold-out crowd, also broke the venue’s record for highest merchandise sales.
The downtown L.A. landmark, built in 1920s, has also hosted the Emmy Awards.
In its review of the show, Variety wrote that a “grateful, still baby-faced Gerard Way” led a triumphant evening during which the group opted to forego “the theatrics, costumes, and pyro … to play an epic, career-spanning set — sounding as if they’d never left.”
