Switchfoot is hitting the road again. The San Diego-based rock act will kick off its fifth U.S. tour in support of its breakthrough album, “The Beautiful Letdown,” Sept. 25 in Huntsville, Ala. The band is currently in Europe, where its tour with Alter Bridge will play Amsterdam tomorrow (Sept. 15) and London on Friday. A two-date visit to Australia is sandwiched in between the European and U.S. dates. Primarily made up of club and theater dates, the U.S. trek opens with a trio of bigger shows. The first date falls in the middle of Huntsville, Ala.’s annual three-day Big Spring Jam event, which will also boast appearances by George Clinton & Funkadelic, Jewel and Lynryd Skynyrd.A Sept. 26 visit to Jackson, N.J., has the band headlining Six Flags Great Adventure’s North Star Arena, followed the next day by an appearance at the Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair in Fort Smith, Ark.Released in February 2003, “The Beautiful Letdown” is the band’s fourth album, and first for Red Ink/Columbia.
