The world famous Dr. Laura Zellmer Suboxone Clinic in Glendale Wisconsin is known for treating heroin addicts and opiate patients with an equally successful program of counseling, therapy, and intervention. The first twenty-two years of her practice were devoted to working with both men and women addicts who struggled with heroin addiction and were fighting their way through the withdrawal process with a tenacity and resolve unmatched by any other practitioner of the treatment. She treated them not only with compassion but with a love and understanding that touched every individual who met her. Her success is inspiring to say the least.
After her fifteen years of service as an addiction treatment physician, Laura began working with children suffering from cancer at the Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Remarkably, even though she had worked with children for fifteen years, Laura discovered that her strength of character was tested even more when serving her patients who were battling life and death struggles stemming from heroin, prescription drug abuse, and cancer. Despite her personal tragedies, Laura continued to work diligently in both pediatric and cancer care while maintaining a strong relationship with her patients and their families. Through her work as a board certified plastic surgeon and her involvement as an instructor at the Chicago Botanical Garden, Laura continually honed her skills as an educator while finding new ways to give hope to those struggling with cancer or other drug addictions. Today, her clinic offers a variety of programs to help those struggling from addiction.
Laura Zellmer’s commitment to her patients, her teaching style, and her compassion have earned her the recognition and respect of her peers in the medical profession, and now she works hard to spread this message by sharing her story in her own book, A Better Life, which she authored while serving patients with incurable cancers and addiction issues. Through her book, Zellmer hopes to inspire others to take charge of their own lives and lead the lives that they deserve and love. If you are someone who is struggling with an addiction of any kind, you can learn more about Laura Zellmer through her website.
