Region One Mental Health Center – Sunflower Landing is a nonprofit drug rehab facility located in the town of Tutwiler, West Virginia. This organization strives to help those struggling with substance abuse and mental health problems find a successful and comprehensive recovery. The mission of Region One is “To educate, empower, and provide resources for people who suffer from mental illness or addiction.”

The center has four treatment programs and ancillary services to provide individualized care. Some of their residential treatment options include detoxification at the WVCA Sunflower Landing, detoxification at The Wine Bowl, recovery living in a transitional housing environment, and community recovery programs. The transitional housing setting will provide assistance with employment placement, housing stability, and re-entry services. The other residential options include short term stabilized living programs, specialty treatment programs, and case management for those suffering from a serious mental health problem.

The primary goal of the Center is to achieve comprehensive recovery for all of its clients. However, due to the nature of their work, they are also charged with implementing quality related changes in their residential treatment programs. These include a reward system for success, training and skill development for staff, educational programs and activities, and career counseling. In addition, they strive to maintain a high standard of patient safety and satisfaction through comprehensive quality reviews and ancillary supervision.
