BØRNS

Dopamine
Artwork

I’ve heard plenty of well produced albums over the years. I’m not sure I’ve heard one better than BØRNS’ “Dopamine”. It’s a pop record that’s incredibly smooth with beats and sounds that are completely original. The sounds are amazing. The same can be said for the recording work of the vocal of Garrett Borns. His falsetto voice ebbs, flows, and floats through “Dopamine” effortlessly. He has one of the cooler voices that you’re likely to hear. Throughout the eleven tracks of “Dopamine”, BØRNS plays the part of the white rabbit guiding us through Wonderland. The album is filled with soulful alternative grooves with some awesome beats and sometimes some incredibly funky bass lines. “Dopamine” has a few odd moments where the production doesn’t quite hit its mark but those moments are few and far between. The production is sounds better than anything I've heard before. A few of the sounds don't work in certain moments, but other than that this is about as good of a debut as you're likely to hear.
