The Struts

YOUNG&DANGEROUS
Artwork

The Struts have been on the rise since their inception. There’s always been a demand for dingy Brit rock with classic rock elements. Look at The Darkness. They turned one song, “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” into a two-decade long career. 2016 was the world’s introduction to The Struts with their debut album Everybody Wants, and while they developed a steady following in the U.S. they buzzed like crazy in the UK. They’re one hit away from taking over Europe and then taking over the U.S. and I think that hit is on their new record, YOUNG&DANGEROUS.

Listening through the new record, there’s really nothing about the album that’s that different than the band’s debut. The songs are just as good as they were on that record and the vocal performance, production, and the overall vibe of the record are all top notch too. It’s a fun record that’s unapologetically rock ‘n’ roll. Songs like “Body Talks”, “Primadonna Like Me”, “People”, “In Love with a Camera”, and “Bulletproof Baby” are all amazing songs with “In Love with a Camera” having a ton of hit potential. This album is filled with great songs and overall, it’s a tremendous listen.

Although I wasn’t a huge fan of Everybody Wants from The Struts, there was still no denying the potential it had as a record and the potential that The Struts had as a band. The Struts take all that they had with that record and really made the follow-up record that much better. YOUNG&DANGEROUS is an outstanding record that you’ll want to listen to repeatedly.
