Royal Blood

How Did We Get So Dark
Artwork

After listening to Royal Blood’s sophomore album, “How Did We Get So Dark?’, its clear that the U.K. duo is more than a flash in the pan from 2014. They're back in a big way with the new album and it’s better than the debut.

The title track opens up the album in a big way with a furious chorus that’s also catchy as hell. The first song of the album sets the tone for the rest of the set. One after another it's a wave of sound that hits you over and over again. It's really hard to believe that there are only two musicians behind it. Kudos to Mike Kerr for being great with an overdriven guitar – his vocal happens to be just as good. But, the real star of the album and of Royal Blood is drummer Ben Thatcher – he’w a straight-up animal and the drums on this album are easily its best asset.

Royal Blood’s sophomore album is better than their debut and it sets the stage for them to have a long and prosperous career. This album is one of the must-listens of 2017.
