Despite being dropped by Universal, the follow up to 2009’s ‘Against the Grain’ is darker, heavier and altogether better than its predecessor. Now basically a three piece comprised of vocalist Crispin Earl, guitarist Eric Schrader and drummer Neil Beaton it would seem that Universal Motown really didn’t know what to do with the band, with lack of sales cited as the reason that they were dropped by the label.
