Fanfarlo’s latest Rooms Filled With Light takes what the band did on Reservoir and stylizes it. The last album was far from a plain outing but there always seemed to be this smooth, flowing, pattern to the music. Not the standard verse-chorus-verse-chorus-repeat chorus- end. It just always felt like you were a note ahead all the time, even on the first listen. Good pop music should have that trait, but not when it relies on a brass section and all kinds of quirky instrumentation.
