Lansdowne

Blue Collar Revolver
Artwork

Boston based Lansdowne is one of modern rocks best kept secrets, or if you’re cynical, they come from a city without much opportunity since many clubs and bars have closed. That hasn’t stopped the band touring with everyone from Halestorm and Saving Abel to Theory of a Deadman. Indeed they’re currently on tour with Pop Evil and Black Stone Cherry in the United States. So what’s all the fuss about? Well, Lansdowne has that enviable quality of holding all the musical aces; catchy songs, crunching guitar and payoff hooks, oh and a sprinkling of melt the heart power ballads. Sound good? Well that’s because it is. ‘Watch Me Burn’ thunders along with its cataclysmic riff and payoff hook delivered admirably my Jon Ricci’s rich vocals, ‘One Shot’ is a mid tempo pot boiler whilst the pick of the lighter waving moments comes in the shape of the album closer ‘Used to Be’. Anything in between has something going for it; ‘Drag Me Down’ is the albums heaviest offering whilst ‘Open Your Eyes’ comes across as hard rock version of Fall Out Boy. With so much quality on offer it seems unbelievable that Lansdowne remain unsigned by a major label, that maybe about to change.
