Love 45

The Seattle Sessions
Artwork

Denver quartet Love 45, seem to have everything going for them. Chris Henderson of 3 Doors Down lends weight to the production and arrangements, the bands music has featured in the long running series ‘The Osbournes’ and a great deal of airplay has been achieved by the band on internet radio. Far from being new on the alternative rock scene, Love45 already have three independent albums to their name, the first-‘Day-Glo’-whetting the appetite back in 1998. With the alternative rock genre making major inroads into the mainstream, it is unsurprising that Love45 are gaining credibility and relevance with their radio friendly contemporary rock. The sound is modern, but there’s no denying the overt melodic tendencies that liberally pepper this release. All the songs tip their hat to 80’s melody. The earthy vocals add a touch of character to the excellent ‘Awake’ or the equally catchy pop of ‘Smile’-a re-run from the 2002 ‘Larger Than Life’ album, and the up-tempo ‘Over my Head’ prove that Love45 have more than one pop rock string to their bow. ‘The Seattle Sessions’ is a worthy release, prevented from being an essential one only by the fact that it isn't a full-length release. The material that lies within however shows huge potential for a band that will certainly be one to watch in 2004.
