Die Trying

Die Trying
Artwork

Well what do you know! another cock-punk album, from a Sacramento four-piece who don’t mind hanging onto the coat tails of Good Charlotte. Only difference is that their version is full of crass clichés that would have quite comfortably found a home on a Motley Crue album. Good Charlotte have a certain charm and some bright as diamond melodies, all that D.T offer-even with Jacoby Shaddix’s (Papa Roach) support -is in your face subtle as a brick songs like ‘Fuck You’, ‘Dirty Dirty’-which apes The Waitresses ‘I Know What Boys Like’-and ‘Turn Up the Radio’, brought together by a singer that whines incessantly like a parody of Elvis Costello. With an acute identity crisis and a deep sense of unintended irony Die Trying have less originality than any of the manufactured pop acts seen thus far on any of the international pop idol shows.
