Keane

Night Train
Artwork

Keane’s latest album “Night Train” is a different album for the band after “Perfect Symmetry.” It’s being billed as an EP in the UK, but in the U.S. it’s being promoted as a full album. The truth is that it lies somewhere in the middle of the two. Eight songs is too long for an EP and too short for a full album. Identity issues with marketing aside, this might be the most fascinating version of Keane since “Hopes and Fears” came out six years ago. Tim Rice- Oxley makes his vocal debut on this record, rapper K’naan contributes to a few tracks and there are four to five really interesting songs for Keane fans to enjoy. It shouldn’t be classified as a full album, but it’s definitely a great listen. It’s not a typical Keane record but it’s a short, fun romp from the band which is what it was meant to be.
