Another album that’s long overdue for a review, and probably an album that’s long overdue for your attention. This is one of my favorite albums from 2006 because it rocks harder than basically everything else out across every sub-genre or rock/alternative, and the band’s style itself is refreshing and unique. It’s punk/pop with hardcore roots or it’s hardcore with punk/pop roots. Either way it’s awesome. And I know instantly you’re going to think of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus with that past sentence, but you shouldn’t, these guys are better than Red Jumpsuit.
This album is full of great tracks. From the opener of “Prepare the Masses”, to the politically charged “How to Rape a Country”, to one of the best tracks of 2006 that I guarantee you never heard “Shoot From the Hip” all these tracks are brilliantly catchy but still creative. And I didn’t mention my two favorite tracks on the album, “Weekend Warriors”, which is the only true party song to come out in the past 5 years and “Song the World Can Sing Out Loud”, which is a throwback track of sorts that you’ll… sing out loud.
Forget My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy, pay attention to these guys. Go check out A Change of Pace, you won’t regret it.
