The Click Five

Greeting From Imrie House
Artwork

Music college graduates The Click Five are without doubt the next boy band sensation. Keenly marketed as “the new school of power pop”, The Click Five do little more than imitate a successful formula operated by the likes of Busted or the enforced offshoot Son of Dork. Edgy guitar sits comfortably next to the catchy as you like chorus hook-lines and multi-layered backing vocals, bringing to mind Hollywood Records one timers BB Mak. ‘Just the Girl’-a ridiculously tune penned by Fountains of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger-is a hit waiting to happen, as is opener ‘Good Day’, the incessant ‘Catch Your Wave’ or the synthesiser driven ‘Pop Princess’. Recent touring with the Back Street Boys has obviously rubbed off on The Click Five, illustrated clearly on the saccharine sweet slush of ‘I’ll Take My Chances’ and ‘Say Goodnight’, whilst a cover of the Thompson Twins ‘Lies’ is as misguided as it is un-necessary.
With a sound tailor made for chart success-the album has already peaked 15 in the Billboard charts-‘Greetings From Imrie House’ is clearly aimed at the teen market and adults who clearly should know better.
