Panic! at the Disco

Live in Chicago
Artwork

Panic comes out with a CD/DVD combo for the holidays too with “…Live in Chicago.” The DVD is first-rate. The music videos are on there, a bonus because a lot of bands aren’t bundling those with stuff anymore. There is tons of bonus content to go along with a great live concert on this set. The concert is the main part of the DVD, the biography is overall a little boring but the concert is above-average. The CD that comes with the DVD, is the audio from the DVD. And again the concert is decent. The master on the final product is good, Brendon Urie sounds just as impressive on the live disc as he does on the studio album. There’s a healthy combination of music from both albums from the Vegas band, a necessity, but oddly enough they perform the new music a lot better than they perform the old music. It’s weird how that works. “… Live in Chicago” is a good album for Panic fans casual and hardcore. Even if you’ve never cared for the band, go to iTunes and buy the live version of “Nine in the Afternoon”, the band’s tightness on the album and on that song in particular is pretty impressive. It is what it is, a live album, but it will do Panic fans right.
