The Vanished

Favorite Scar
Artwork

The debut album from Dallas based The Vanished caused quite a stir as a result of continued airplay from local radio. ‘Favorite Scar’ is essentially a re-recorded repackaged version of the debut, showcasing several new songs and the band’s incomparable ability to pen concise radio friendly modern pop rock material-some with a Brit pop twist. At least six songs on offer would provide adequate fodder for rock radio play lists; ‘Wake Up’, ‘Favorite Scar’, ‘The Only Thing’ and ‘Kerosene’ will satisfy any die hard power pop fanatic Stateside, whilst the sullen downbeat haunting strains of the phenomenal ‘Soap’ (waste another day) is equal to anything that the likes of Keane have to offer in the U.K. Kirtland records have already built themselves a reputation as a label that rely on quality not quantity and with ‘Favorite Scar’ they may just have a hit on their hands.
