Madina Lake

Attics to Eden
Artwork

If you’re looking for a band to burry yourself into but all of the mainstream rock bands are too bland and boring and your appetite for pop punk has grown pretty sour turn to Madina Lake. They put a tremendous amount of work into their music so it follows stories and web content and really generally is hard to follow if you’re a casual fan but perfect if you’re really willing to get into something. With the band’s sophomore album the story that “From Them, Through Us, To You” built continues on but that’s where a lot of the similarities end. The band explores different rhythms to their music and although that true crunch of guitar driven effects stays the same the band explores a lot of different styles with their timing and it makes them sound more mature than their debut. “Never Take Us Alive” is a good transition track from the first to second record, “Welcome to Oblivion” is more pop elements than rock elements, and “Legends” carries some different aspects of programming that make the song sound more rhythmic than rock. “Allies to Eden” is the second solid set from Madina Lake. If you need a band to be a fan of choose this one, their one of the few groups out there that deserves it.
