Jack White has announced that his label, Third Man Records, will be opening a new vinyl record pressing plant in Detroit, Michigan. The plant will produce his entire label's vinyl releases.
According to the label's website, the plant will be able to churn out 5,000 records an hour. The plant will also be the "only fully climate-controlled pressing plant work environment in the world." It will operate using an "environmentally friendly closed-loop, chilled-water system that maximizes water sustainability."
The plant will open in historic Cass Corridor neighborhood. Rolling Stone reports, "the opening day celebration will include performances, exclusive merchandise and the sale of limited-edition vinyl and the first records pressed at the plant." The plant opens on February 25.
