Freshly motivated and overwhelmed with the response of their sophomore releases, indie pop three-piece 'Pacific' went back into the studio late 2016 and are now eager to share their latest single ‘Dawn’, which will undoubtedly edge its way to the forefront of new music releases out so far in 2017.
Callum Burne of 'Pacific' explains,
“2016 was a very interesting year. Outside the excitement of launching PACIFIC and releasing our debut EP, it was a very difficult year for most of us in our personal lives. Having a creative outlet to assist us in navigating our way through some dark and hard times has been something we’ve come to really appreciate.”
Set to be released on 3rd March, ‘Dawn’ is amongst a number of songs born from a place of discomfort and unfamiliarity. It is a statement song for those wanting to perceive their situation or the world around them in a different light.
Callum Burne says,
“We wanted this song to sound and feel different to anything we’ve written before. Darkness is the absence of light and I feel like it’s a place where we are stretched and refined. With dawn being the first appearance of light, it breathes change. We wanted to try and reflect this sentiment both musically and lyrically throughout the song”
The debut EP 'Pacific' has drawn comparisons sonically from Coldplay, Mumford and Sons and Junja Safari. However, this particular single release 'Dawn' takes a step toward a different direction creatively. The song has stretched the band musically more than any other and is a clear indication of the evolved sounds that will follow this year from the trio.
Distributed by Ditto Music and available from 3rd March 2017, Pacific will be celebrating their new release locally at the iconic, Amplifier Bar, Perth on 4th March 2017, more details available here
