Imagine Dragons have claimed the top spot on both the Billboard Artist 100 and Alternative Rock charts. The Artist 100 chart, which debuted in 2014, measures general artist activity in metrics like music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction.
It's their first time atop the chart and they jumped from the number eight spot up to number one, bumping DJ Khaled in the process. The chart topping success came with the release of their newest effort Evolve, which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 with 147,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending June 29. Since launching, only Katy Perry has completed a more significant leap into the top spot. Imagine Dragons were on the chart for 125 weeks before hitting number one while Perry had been on the chart for 149 weeks before hitting number one.
