Today’s Indie Song of the Day comes from Go On, Great Immortal – the project from Gogi Randhawa. The song is called “Black Waters Rise” and it comes from the debut album “Flawed” that was released a couple of weeks ago.
About the album, Gogi said this:
“ I really wanted to make a record that I felt like was my own - scars and all. So I didn’t want it to be edited to death or tuned to death. If you listen close enough you can definitely hear some “mistakes” in there, but I also feel like those build on the character of the record. Back in the day you could hear mistakes all through records, except now they aren’t mistakes - they are just part of the song, how it was played and what makes it great. I can hear some of the flaws in these songs and I know when they happened and why they happened and it was part of the journey of making this album. One of the main things I took away from this process is that it definitely won’t be the last one. I have to do it again. I got a lot out and it helped me heal on a lot of things in a lot of ways. It also just reinforced to me that persistence doesn’t go unrewarded no matter how difficult things get.”
